MECHIANICs' INSTITUTE--The committee met on Tuesday evening. Present - The President (D. Mitchell, Esq.,) in the chair, MnessrsWarren, IIumphrey,Johnstone, Bennett, (nd Salmon. A seriesof plans were sent in by Mr Harris, C.E., for new Mechanics' Institute, also a donation of valuable books by Mr WV. ,M. Clark, and a new lamp by the Borough Council. Letters were ordered to be sent thanking the donors for same. The honorary secretary was instructed to have notices printed requesting subscribers to be more careful with new books.
