When presenting Barry in London on Tuesday last with the ' Sportsman' Gup. and in paying a tribute to Barry for rais. ing Englssh sculling from the abyss wherein it had been wallowing for many years, Lord Desborough ment:oned the fact that many people who had been pursuing rowing and sculling in Australasia had told him. both at Stockholm aud Henley, prior to the world's championship of 1912, that Arnst was not only the best sculler of that time, but was capable of ranking nuiong the cream or me scunere itiat Australasia or any other country had ever produced. All the more honor, .therefore, was due to Bnrry for bringing the chauipimsbip to England. Barry, in expressing his thanks, said he hoped to hold tbe trophy for many years. The ' Sportsman' has decided to 'provide another cup.
