THE FINANCIAL STATEMENT. [Newspaper Article] — Narandera Argus and Riverina Advertiser — 14 May 1895

THE FINANCIAL STATEMENT.. With the deliverance of Mr Reid's Financial Statement, politics have become the all-absorbing topic o£ discussion. The first impression created by the Statement was that it vas a refreshingly bold one, and that i,t was an abundant tuJftlment or tlie pledges which Mr Reid, made to ?fjhe couutry orji. behalf of the freetrade party prior to the election. As a con.seqtwnGe,. both daily newspapers loudly praised bran, and the great body of his supporters felt_ and ex pressed a satisfaction with their : leader that bad previously in all casea not marked their bearing towards him.. But tbe enthusiasm of both press and politician is cooling somewhat now that they are afforded time for reflection.
