President Joseph Ramsey , of the Wabash railway , restraining- the officers of brotherhoods represented in the controversy and the employes of the road serving on grievance committees from calling a strike was filed with Judge Elmer B . Objections by Senator Morgan Delays Consideration of Canal Treaty Washington , March 9 . —The senate committee on foreign relations Monday agreed to favorably report the Colomiban canal treaty to the senate . No action was taken on tiie Cuban or other reciprocity treaties . The Colombian treaty was reported as in the former session without amendment . When the senate went into executive session Senator Cullom reported the treaty , and it was read at length , as the rules of the senate required . Under the rules an objection carried the treaty over for one day before it could be considered , and Senator Morgan objected to its consideration Monday . A colony at American , eagles has made its noma along the shores of Chautauqua lake for many years . A story is told of one of these birds that is truly remarkable , says the Buffalo Courier . The eagle was gracefully soaring over the lake when it suddenly darted with lightning rapidity toward the water , catching in its talons a musknllonge two feet or more in length , and weighing probably ten pounds . There was a clash and a splashing of fins and feathers , but slowly the bird rose in the air with its captive dangling and wriggling below . When at a height of about 1 , 000 feet the bird , still clinging to the fish , began to sink slowly toward the lake again , gaining speed as it descended and finally fell with a splash in the water .
