ATHIiETIC NEWS . The great interest taken in the proposed base ball cage to be made in the gymnasium affords much encouragement to Manager Lark and Captain Bums . The petition with its long list of signers will be acted upon at the next Faculty meeting on Thursday , and we believe that they will give it their approval so that the cage can be prepared immediately . Every college man recognizes the importance of having a cage in order to have early ball practice , as almost every college in the country has a cage , and early practice is necessary since our team will have to play teams from other colleges which have all the advantages of early practice and several of our games are scheduled early in the season . Although no formal call lias been made as yet for applicants for the base ball team , yet it is certainly encouraging to the management to know that there will be a large number of applicants for the team , indeed more than for the teams of preceding years . We think that Getty...
