NOTES ON THE GAME. [Newspaper Article] — Hopetoun Courier and Mallee Pioneer — 19 June 1914

NOTES ON THE GAME. For (he losers the most prominent were Lawlor, Lee, E. Han-is, A. King, Schneider ami Piper. NJ(> in dividual player, however, shone out above his companions, although there were a few '• passengers". For the home team perhaps the player who was most conspicuous was J, Kelly. lie was very con sistent throughout. Hngh Logan was hardly as sure with his high marking as usual. Still ho took some fine marks, and his kicking was right up to his general high standard. Speaking of marking, R;iy Dart was right at his top. Tho old veto [an, D. S tvwnrt, the liero of many matches nearly a score of years ago, was rarely beaten, and he certainly proved that ho is any thing but a light of other days. DcBaere played his visual cool, scientific game, whilst P. Kelly and \V. White were always itsefnh Of tho new players, Wynne, Ton kin and Walch give excellent promise. .. Les. Roberts shows any amount of pace, and with a little practice should take a lot of stopping on the wing....
