Letters to Soldiers. NEW FORM OF A DDR 12 SS. It is desired by the military authorities abroad that tho word " Australia" be included in everything addressed to any of the units, lituce the necessity for including the word? " Australian Imperial Force," instead of " A.I.F.'' Confusion is being caused by the Australian correspondents using the letters "A.F.A." instead o! writing the words " Australian Field Artillery" in full in the addresses on letters and parcels intended for members of that- unit. The " Array Field Artillery," a British unit, uses been issued that correspondence is to be adsressed to " Australian" Field Artillery. In the case of infantry the distinguishing letter of the Company I [o which the soldier is attached should bo shown thus :— No. 1231, Private Thorn,is Atkins, "B"Corapany, 21st Infantry Battalion, Australian Imperial Force, Abroad. In Light Horse regiments the squadron should be indicated in the same way, as follow- :— No. Private Thomas Atkins, " C" Squ...

DEATHS. The death occurred suddenly on Sunday last of Mr. Thomas Aloysius   Murnane, of Stonyford. The deceased,   who had resided with his brother, Mr.       Michael Edward Murnane, during the   past four years, was an invalid and   had been subject to fits from his   infancy. On Friday last he had taken six fits, but seemed in fairly good health on Saturday and up to the   time of his death on Sunday. On   Sunday he lay down on the sofa and   appeared to doze off to sleep and died peacefully. The matter was reported to the Camperdown police, who had the body taken to Camperdown, where it was viewed by Mr. James Arm- strong, J.P., who gave a certificate for burial, an inquest being considered unnecessary. The death occurred at Camperdown on Saturday last, of an old and very highly respected resident in the person of Mrs. Williams, of Pomborn...

Red Cross Workers. The committee of the local branch of the Red Cross Society have once   more commenced operations and are   making strenuous efforts to supply   comforts or the soldiers. It is   urgently requested that workers will come forward again as they did last     year and assist the Society in their     noble work. Material can be obtained     from the hon. secretary (Mrs. T. M.   Drew.) There is a great demand for     shirts for the soldiers and it is hoped   a ready response to this appeal will     be forthcoming.
