REILLY STREET DRAIN. [Newspaper Article] — Mercury — 24 July 1875

REILLY STREET DRAIN. WE take the liberty of inviting the attention of the local authorities to the present unprotected condition of the Reilly Street drain, more especially that part of it which runs between Welling ton and Hoddle streets. The drain has a considerable depth, and the masonry is precipitous, while the sides on both north and south are unfenced. And on dark winter nights an adult person may unconsciously incur a serlous fall, if' not a premature death, precipitated down the shelving this drain. .We now casually the circumstance from an ap that there is is iminent permitting the existing state to continue; for it is on privileges of the publi...
