The annual trial of ceapere» winaowen», &c, in connection with the Royal Agricultural Society took place at Mr. James Harvey's farm, near the Salisbury Station.cn Tuesday, Decem ber 10. The -weather being beautifully fine there was a good attendance- of farmers, but they were all disappointed at the trials owing to the lack of competition. 1 caving out the reaping; and binding machines there was noth ing of any value that could not be seen on the wheatfields throughout the colony. CORRESPONDENCE. (From our own Correspondent fr). PORT PfRIE. Dec. 4. The new wheat is coming in very freely. Messrs. Dunn & Co. have about two thousand bsgs in their new stack. The contest for the Majority caused same excitement here on Monday hist. Mr. A. G. Pollitt was return ing officer who declared the poll a 5 p.m. Warren, seventy-three ; Coombe, fifty-seven. The result was received amidst great cheering, and Mr. Warren was dragged through the town in a buggy. Eainer's Diorama per formed here on Tuesday evening to a crowded house there were come very handsome presents distributed among . the audience .daring the evening. The company also performed oa the two following nights.
