Refuse Receptacles. To THE EDITOR. [Newspaper Article] — Malvern Standard — 16 March 1907

j Refase Receptacles. j t -« j To THE EDITOR. Sir,-I have to thank you for allowing me to express my views-a privilege as a citizen of Prahran. Without wishing to interfere with I the affairs of our councillors, permit me to suggest that proper dust boxes be supplied to every householder at the expense of the landlord, without putting the tenant to the extra expense. Also, our dust carts should be on crank axles, to make it easier for the man. The body of the cart is too high. To make this a clean city, I hold we should have a house to house inspection, not alone for the tenant, but the landlord should be I made to do his part. -Yours, &c, F. WILSON, SENK. Euterpe Society. [Newspaper Article] — Malvern Standard — 16 March 1907

Euterpe Society. Those who were fortunate enough to attend the concert given by the Euterpe Society, at the Old Town Hall, Prahran, on Thursday, the 7th inst, experienced a most enjoyable time. A splendid programme was submitted, embracing selections from "Maritana," "Martha," " Il Trova- tore " and " La Sonambula," all of which have been rendered by the Society, also the beautiful waltz song from "Romeo and Juliet ;'' "O Mio     Fernando," from La Favorita," and " Infelice," from " Ernani." It is questionable whether any other society in Victoria could (within its own limits), give such a satisfactory rendition of music   presenting so many difficulties, and it certainly reflects much credit on the directress and all those con- cerned. A feature of the per formance was the appearance of Miss Ada Casey (the musical directress of the Society) as a vocalist. She possesses a beautiful contralto voice of exceptional range and highly cul tured style...
