We need scarcely say that the ground fdr fruit trees should be well prepared, and effective drain age secured when* necessary. As soon as the land is ready deciduous trees may be planted i£ necessary, but under, ordinary circumstances there need be no hurry to get them in. for another two or three weeks. ,When deciduous trees are removed every care should be taken to preserve their roots as much as possible, as the fewer that are destroyed or mutilated the better. Care Should also be taken not to expose the roots to sun and wind for any length of time, as, though deciduous trees will stand more ill usage in this respect than evergreens, it is better to protect them'.
