(Sto$«3§uGm$jH Senate.—On Thursday last, it-being understood that the question would be taken in the U.S. Senate on "the Oregon resolutions, Mr. ^rittenden arose, and made a-truly; eloquent speech ot about-two hours long. Mr. Allen then-moved- to take up the joint Resolutions of the House, which was done. Mr. Johnson, of Md then moved to substitute for them the preamble and resolutions of the Senator of Ky. leaving out ofthe latter, the proviso as to the time of. giving the notice. Mr. Allen moved some amendments,' whictr-were rejected." Mr. Johnson's amendment was then adopted by a vote, of 30 to 24. Some sharpj shooting took place between Mr. Crittenden and Mr. Allen.
