Colonel Jouaust's decision to exclude the testi mony of Colonel Schwartzkoppen and Major Pauizzardi iu rhe Dreyfus trial by courtniartial was most significant, as it meant that the court had already reached a conclusion and that Jhe plead ings of counsel were merely a waste of time and might be dispensed with, if they were not a necessity.
