Meyers, of Detroit, for anew capitol building at Austin, to cost about 81,000,000. TEXAS has recently enacted a law, which has been approved by the gov­ ernor, giving a pension of public lands to all confederate soldiers who enlisted in that state. MOSES ROBINSON had for many years paid taxes on his property at East Northfleld, Vt., at a valuation of 810,000. When recently it was put up to S50.000, he became insane and com­ mitted suicide. THE son of a Broadway stage driver found in a dilapidated trunk which he had purchased, a cluster diamond brooch, lost by Mrs. William H. Van derbilt at Saratoga, valued at $2,000. The youngster, in returning the prize, said he did noc ask a reward, but he hoped the affair might aid his father in securing an easier job.
