YOUNGHUSBAND, ROW & CO. PRO PRIETARY LTD. ANNUAL MEETING. 1 Tho annual meeting of Younshusband, Row and Co. Ply. Ltd. was hold on 30th ult., Mr W. Stovonson Frasor, chairman of directors, presiding. The report sub mitted was of a highly satisfactory nature, tho net profits for tho past 12 months bo ing il6,09G, to which after adding the carrying forward figures, left a balance at credit of profit and loss account of .£19,761. Out of this sum dividend and bonus was declared a' tho rato of 10 per cent, por annum, absorbing 16982, the sum of £8000 was transferred to reserve fund, raising same to i'56,500, and the balance, viz., ±'4779 was carried forward. Tho abovo is interesting by reason of the fact that the company has been so largely in the past identified with this district, the • branch at Albury being tho chief ona outside head office.

•a'lir, mauTAKV bam. The animal Military Ball in connec tion with the Upper Murray Rifle Club took place on Wednesday night, Gth inst. About forty couples attended, and a most enjoyable night was spent. The hall was prettily decorated with flags, and the floor was in splendid order, Good music was supplied by Messrs C. Robinson and W. Davis (violin anil cornet) and Hiss Robinson (piano.), and a first-class supper was provided by Miss Hill, of tha Corryong Coffee Palace. The decorating of the hall was done by Messrs II. Taylor, C. Davis and L. Say, and the result reflected great credit upon them. Messrs Taylor and Davis also officiated as floor stewards at the ball. Mr Taylor deserves a special word for the energy and enthusiasm with which he carried out the secretarial duties, and supervised the arrangements gener ally. This picnic-has now bccoine one of the most popular of our district, and deservedly so, for neither paius nor energy are wanting in the promoters, and the function just over was no exception to its forerunners. The site is prettily situated on the banks of the old '-Stony", the drive pleasant, and the. whole hearted welcome awaiting visitors attracts a great number from different parts of the district. Since the last picnic a now tcacher in Mr K. T. Bailey is in charge and he proved a splendid organiser of the great day. A lengthy programme was presented, every event .'working off very satis factorily, some ' beautiful and useful trophies as prizes being evident.
