Lsage'v-ity. It is likely that a tendency to longevity is frequently inherited— that it runs in families. 'We know that a lack of vit,;Jity, weakness of constitution and a tendency to certain diseases nre transuiissablo. Presuming that naturo never indicates any physiological preference for individuals, we can account fur this prineiuUs of preservation by tho fact that in .ill large families the wc.1ko.1t and diseased die out, leaving only tho healthy and most hearty to propagate. Worry nnd nervous oxcitomont kill people quicker than wars and f...

' They Dropped 0ft— Poisoned * .-?By My Blood.' There is more or less of an impression upon the minds of some people that state ments as to the merits and effects of popular .medicines should be received with a degree of allowance. That is to say, people are apt to think the proprietorrof these articles often enlarge upon and ex aggerate the real facts in order to create a demand for what they have to sell. We are inclined to believe this is seldom the case, as the intelligent persons who own these medicines are aware that any sort , of over-statemeut tends to injure their; sales rather than to increase them. The public are sure to form a correct judgmont ail to tho value of 'an advertised article, and any false claims for it aro certain to be recognised and denounced. Honesty is the best policy iu this as in aU other cases. Therefore the reader need not hesitate to accept as true any announcements of which the following is an example : — [copy.] ?
