LATER PARTICULARS. INSURANCE LOSSES UNDER £1,000,000.   LONDON, November 21. The area on which buildings have been destroyed is four and a-half acres. The losses by insurance offices are esti- mated at under £1,000,000. The leading British offices lone £330,000, and American offices are heavy losers. Four thousand workpeople have been thrown out of employment by the disaster. The Lord Mayor of London has opened a fund for the relief of workpeople thrown out of employment by the fire.

Extraordinary Bigamy HOLT'S MATRIMONIAL AGENCY. "A BLIGHT ON THE COMMUNITY" Carl Agost Wilhelm Walborg de Malmborn —a foreigner as his name indicates— pleaded guilty to a charge of bigamy at the Melbourne Criminal Court on Thursday, The present ment set forth that at Williamstown on the   10th of October, 1895, he married Mary Ann Miller, and that on the 28th or December, I895 at Melbourne, he married Ethel Jane Yates, his lawful wife being then alive. The prisoner said he was 40 years of age, a builder and contractor, and last resided at North Melbourne. He Had been round the world twie, and never before offended against the law. It was hard that he should be placed in such a disgraceful position through no fault of his own, In a written statement , furnished to the Chief Justice, the prisoner said that his wife left him and went to live with a man named Nelson.
