THE CHIPPE-WA INDIANS RETURN Portion of Rocky Boy's Band Pre fers Garbage Barrels to Gov ernment Rations. Charging that the government broke its word to furnish them with rations until they were allotted land on the blackfeet Indian reservation, 150 Chippewa Indians have come to Helena and are now encamped on the outskirts of the city, where they ex pect to remain bntil spring. Rocky Boy, the original chief of the tribe, has remained on the reservation with about 5o followers, the defection be ing led by Pennetto, who claims to be a brother of Rocky Boy. Two years ago the Chippewas were encamped near Helena, and when as sistance was rendered them, were ina starving condition.
