The first thing I do in preparing my land, is to lay off my rows five leet apart, on any kisd c>f rand?ubrooin?edg?M not accepted. With a turning-plow 1 then proceed to plow hy row*, and it ought never to be omitted to plow in the same furrow, with a rooter or Bub-soilcr?the deeper the better. In bedding oat, I plow all my land, except a very narrow ridge, to. be opend when planting. Then when I am ready to plant my corn, I open thia ridge, put in what fertilizers I ose, and drop my oorn, two grains in a place, two or three inches from the manure. We have been asked by, we can say the great majority of our people, will the Home stead Exemption stand? Our response in every^Jista^^wssjt^at it) would. Both in Georgia and in North Carolina, says the Darlington tSfautJktrner, the Supremo Courts, have given opinions sustaining the Con stitutionality of the Homestead Exemp tions ^ against judgements and debts of what ever date. The North Carolina Supreme Court did not have a case before it involving the (jurat ion'. The Court in deciding against the stay law of that State, the installment pro visions especially, took occasion to make known the views of the Judges, as to <the Homestead Very .properly tho Court distinguishes between an exempt ion law and a stay or installment law.
