All the menders of the House but 7 were present the ab sentees were all Southern member. One ballot was taken far Ppealer, which resulted as follows: Sherman, Gfi; Hoeock. P; Grow, 43; Bottcler, 14; Davis, 2; Phillips, 1; Gil mer, 3; Corwin, 1; Hill, 1; Hickman, 1; Pennington, 1; Uaskio, 2; JIoQutwn, 1; II. F. Clark, 1. Mr. Grow withdrew bis namo. No furthcrballotwas taken before the House adjourned. In the Scnato 43 members wcro pres ent. Mr. Mason introduced a resolu tion for a commission to mako a thor ough inquiry and report as to the Har per's Ferry affair, with power to send for persona ,and papors.
