SOME OP THE REASONS Engineers Drive Stakes in the Ground and the Heels of Cadets Do Harm. Have you noticed the worn appear ance of the grass on the quadrangle this spring? Large bare spots may be seen along the south and west edges, another stretches out over the north east corner near the law building and the space between the columns and the porch of Academic hall shows the ef fects of ill usage. Even the mounds themselves appear streaked and weath ered. According to Prof. M. L. Lipscomb, the ragged condition of the Quadrangle is due to the military and the en croachments of summer grasses. Stroll ers and surveyors are also partly to blame. "The more the University of Mis souri grows," he said, "the harder it is to keep the Quad in condition. ...
