Commercial Club Doings at Emma sr.-" Railroad Talk From The Citizens Of T*o Towns in Crosby County Tuesday evening at 2.30 p. m. the following deligatea from Cros- by ton took passage via "Big Six" for Emma, where we had been informed would be held a rail- road meeting, in connection with a commercial club meeting of that city: Hon. J. W. Burton J. C. Johnson, W. D. Petzel, E. Witt, Prof. M. A. Cannon and F. E. White. We had been told that there would be in attendance some railroad men, but for some un- known reason the railroad men were not in attendance, though we were infor med that a wire was expected at any time from them telling when or why they had not shown up. The old record was four- teen hours and forty-two min- utes. A protest arose from the 8,000 spectators and a riot was prevented only by th$ determin- ed manner in which the officers cleared the platform. Doctors who were in attendance advised the police that further physical exertion on the part of the dan- cers might result fatally.^ Seven cop plea entered the con- test and five couples finished.
