SOUR. O.1EO LE'I R. . (FROM OUR OWM COnRESrONDENT.) -. . Vednesday, April 12. It is surely time a branch of: the society for the prevention of cruelty to animhals was' established in Omeo. It is nothing new to see uunfortunate horses ridden till the blood cotmes from their feet and with so?r backs that would dis gust anyone to look at. Only to-dlay I noticed a stro?ng able young fellow beat ing a poor, unfortunate working bullock on the head aidl nose until a pool of blood necumulated where the poor beast was standing. 'In a great majority of cases men who 'do this kind of' thing are munitigated curs, and if there were means of administering a small portion of the punishmient to; their'hides in the slhape of a cat, it would do an nimeonse amount of good. . At the Omeo Police Court opn ed nesday Mr. A.. W. Houitt, P.?., granted \1. l 'Namara and .others a mining lease of 30 acres of ground at Upper Dargo. 'M. M'Namara appeared and proved that all the necessary ore liminaries had 'bee...
