The reason -why we ar.e planting these trees is to re place the ones that have been de stroved or cleared for cultivation. Miost of the farmers around this district are clearing off all their timber. Fhat will they do later on when they have settled down and have no shelter for their stock? The sight of dumb animals ex posed to the blazing summer heat or cold winter blasts is by no means uncomnlon. WIhy not start at once and plant trees, so that they will have time to grow up before the other timber is cleared ?
