A full report of the proceedings is unavoidably crowded out. The following report of Mr. Stuart Murray, Chief Engineer of Water Supply, on his inspection of the IBenwell cinbank Inent, was read and made an order of the day for next meeting : 1. In compliance with the request con veyed in the letter of the above trust, ofAnignst 9th iult., I visited and examined this work; in company with several of the trust commissioners, Mr. A.lbrecht, their engineer, and MIr. John Ilelmns, farmer, residing at Lake Charm, deposed that lthe navvies first came on his land about the th tJnne. Remem hered finding the wires cut on that date in two places. They hand to take all their horses and stock out of their paddock in consequence of this. Previous to taking them out, the horses had escaped several times. There were abont 290 acres in the paddock. Tile fenccs were not repaired fronm the 9th of JTnn till the 29th .July of last year. They had to take some of their stock away to Pontal Island. There was no availablhe grass paddocks nearer.
