(To the Editor ov the Beoa Gazettk.) Sib,—Wei! knowing your coitions are always open for | exposure of existing wrongs to the body politic, allow me j to draw your attention to the grievjous injury BUBtaiued I by the free selectors, through largo flocks of sheep toeing j depastured right up to their very doors, throughout the length and breadth of. the district, to the starvation and destruction of the settlers cattle, it being well-known they j will not subside on the same run with sheep; this is carry- j • ing out t>B threat of one of these monopolising sheep "•owners with a vengeance, vis., "That he would eat the | free selectors out." B O DY'S S O N . » 00 For awhile we will leave John March with his basket a*d the ragged book in his cheerless lodging We will £<> back a little and enter a very different ecene; light and warmth liieet us, comfort and luxery have made their abode here, in tltifi room where a man in the prime of life sits, drying-gowned and slippered be fore his desk. But no pleasant thoughts are passing through his mind, and it is not the papers, which his hands are restlessly fingering, that have brought the look of gloomy uneasi ness into his face Near him, silent and pale, stands his daughter, and it is with her be is angry. Why, to him she iR a chiid still, a mere infant, how dare she think of such things as falling in lovejind marriage? How dare the suffer the young spendthrift vagabond to i ppeak to bim on the subject! BUSHRAN GING. THB DOINGS OP THUNDERBOLT AND HIS ' GANG. I We legret to say (says the Tamworth Examiner of Saturday) that these vagabonds have been again at work in this district, and although no actual personal violence has in any case been committed, this perhaps is not so much attributable to the character of the bushrangers as to the fact that their victims offered no resistance. We now give the particulars of the robberies in the order in which they were committed, as obligingly (supplied by our correspondents at Gulligal, Turrawan, and Wee Waa. Writing on the 17th, our Tarrawan correspondent fays: —The Turrawan Hotel, Mr. James Ward's, was stuck-up on Saturday evening last, 13th instant, by two of Thun derbolt's gang, Kelly and another, about 10 o'clock p.m. j The inmates, amongst whom were Mr. Alexander Brown i and Mr. George Brown, on their way down with cattle, were about retiring for the night, when suddenly two horsetneh rode up and called for the ostler.
