Death Of Mrs. Price With the passing of Mrs. Janet Price, wife of Councillor A. H. Price, at a private hospital in Greensborough on Wednesday, the district has lost one of its most highly respected citizens, and one whose kindly generosity was known to all. Mrs. Price had an intense dis like for ostentatious givinig, and it is extremely doubtful if any one will ever know thec full extent of her kindliness. One public institution which it is generally known was made possible through Mrs. Price's assistance is the Montmorency Hall, yet when it was suggested that the name "Price Hall" be given to it, Mrs. Price vetoed the proposal. For some considerable time past, Mrs. Price has been in IIl health, although in the last few months she seemed better. Early on Sunday morning last Councillor Price found her to be in good spirits and left her to water the garden. Shortly after wards he was called and found that his wife had suffered a bad turn. DEATH' OP .MR. RRICE Sympathy is felt with Mrs. Rice and her family in the death in tlel Royal Melbourne Hospital, late last Satur day night of Mr. Rice. Mr: Rice w'as formerly a resident of Kangaroo Grotiiid for many years. The funeral was held at the Dia mond Creek Cemetery on Monday. DEATH OF MRS STYLES Mrs. Fanny Eliza Styles, who has been a resident of Diamond Creek for many years, passed away on Tues day evening. Mrs. Styles was the widow of the latel Mr. William Robert Styles. She is survived by one daugh ter, Miss Gladys Styles. The funeral took place at Fawkner Cemetery yesterday.

Mernda METHODIST CIRCUIT Owing chiefly to financial difficult ies, the Yan Yean Circuit of the Methodist Church has been altered in status from an independent Min isterial Circuit to a Home Mission Statign. The area covered by the circuit includes '.W(hittlesea, Yan Yean, Mernda, Hazel Glen, Doreen. Yarrambat, South Morang, Wollert, Woodstock, Beverige. The difficult ies are largely due to dwindling population with a certain amount of lack of interest in the church. The change will become effective on the expiration of the period under Rev. A. R. Tippett's sup~rintendency in April.

Ki'nglake MEN.-INJURED When going down a steel hill whilst: rounding a curve, a truck owned by Mr. Flatman and driven by Mr. L. Dunn becanie temporarily out of con trol. skidded, and hit a stump. The men travelling to work had a narrow escape from death. Mr. Arthur Thomson sustained concussion and in. juries to the shoulder. He was treated by Dr. Boxall and/ ordered into hospital. John Chrystie was thrown into the air and landed on the truck again. Keith Thomson receiv ed a -hit on the forehead: the other men received shock.
