Tender his tones in llio low meditation, Timidly downward her glances are cast, Eyes matched with sapphire, cheeks with carnation; Fair is the picture; how long will it last? ' Think, when old Time, of old jokers the grimmist, Whitens the tresses and furrows tho brow; Changing the forms that arelithest and slimest, Will your aftcctions be steady as now ? True that to-day in its ardent devotion, T.nve takes no heed of the future or past— Curbing and checking tho tide of emotion, Prudenco should whisper, how long will it last ? All were in vain, though the caution be needed; Prudence is ne'er the companion of youth, Passion for aye leaves unnoticed, unheeded, Warnings of wisdom and promptings of truth. Forging the fetters that bind them together, Gilding the hours t...
