THE WEST WIMMERA MAIL AND NATIMUK ADVERTISER FRIDAY, MARCH 27 [Newspaper Article] — West Wimmera Mail and Natimuk Advertiser — 27 March 1914

THE IESTIIIP[ERA,MAIL A.ND NATIMUK ADVERTISER FRIDAY, MARCH Complaints continue to reach ua in regard to the objectionable practice of putting the germ-laden sweeping3 from the Natimuk street drains on the side% of the metaf roadway. Not only are the water-shed capabilities of the metal destroyed, but some of the filth, after it dries, is blown into the neighboring dwellings. It - is quite bad enough to have to contend with the disease-distributing mos-, quito, which breeds ia the gutter and directly it takes wing joins the rest of the family in various bedrooms, and, if it can get a look in perches on a big toe or an ear tip and immed iately begins to satisfy itself that its proboscis is in working order, and incidentally, of course-to " satisfy" itself in another sense. The other day a wag made a heap of the accu mulated drain sweepings to resemble a grave, and an epitaph, "In memory of Public Health," was placed on top. At Tuesday's meeting of the Ara piles Council the Secretary ...
