Home Style Serving Introduced At Dorm • _WHHMf*' jfiBflAflBft. _'1 - 9_bAA "AMsfetstagMB _^ slice the arrival of "Aunt Bess," the new house mother. One of the nicest changes is the new style of serving the main meal each day. Although most colleges use the home style of serving, it has never before been tried at Behrend. Aunt Bess felt that since the Behrend dormitory is a home for girls, it should be more like a home to them. Thus she suggested this informal procedure at dinner. In the past the students' plates were dished-up in the kitchen and served to each student by the serving boys. Otherwise the students went to the kitchen to get their own plates. Much of the food was wasted. Whole portions of foods were returned to the kitchen and, of course, thrown into the garbage. Now the platters with the food on them are placed on each table This style seems to be more satisfactory. A hostess is appointed each week to be the head of the table. She serves the meat to each person...

BC Ice Skaters Efljoy New Pood H»fe ' ye* notteid ham dMRM the campus hu looked these past wintry days? The reason is Behrend's skating pond. Most of the students have been spending every spare minute practicing fancy figures, and some of them took pretty good. Who knows. . . the Dick Button or Sonja Hente of tomorrow may be a Centerite of today. The idea of a skating pond at Behrend isn't one that originated with this year's class. Work on the outdoor rink began last winter, but it wasn't completed in time to be utilized. Under the able as sistance and direction of Hugh Gallagher, head groundkeeper, the Ski Club put the pond in order, set up lights for night skating, and made benches for the skaters and-spectators. For a while it looked as though, after the preparation of the pond, the weather would be against the class's skating this winter. But February and March came up with some beauttful clear, cold days, and the ice-skates were taken gingerly out of their boxes by eag...

Amateur Photogs Organize Club Hold that pose! Oot it! With a flash of light and the click of the camera shutter, the Behrend Center Camera Club is now being organized. The project of organization is being undertaken by Owen King, Ray Berklite and Gene Smith. All three are capable for this task; Owen served as a photographer in the Army, Ray attended a school for photographers in New York City while Gene practiced amateur "shutterbugging" in the Navy. The trio will combine their experience and knowledge, along with that of Mr. Louis Balmer, instructor of Chemistry and faculty advisor of the club, to Instruct all their members in the art of photography. A "dark room" in the Chemistry Laboratory is also being planned for the use of the club. Only two restrictions must be conformed to in order to gain membership to the Camera Club. One is the possession of a camera any size, shape or make, while the other1 is the possession of a genuine interest in photography. "Snapping" pictur...
