A MAN , A MAID , AND A PURPLE COW The scene of my story is laid in Mars where nine out of every ten girls have brown _eyes and red hair and where all the men part their hair in the middle . All the cows in Mars are purp le , and every ni ght at ten o clock the cows walk down the street in fours . This signifies that it is ten oclock . Now Mars is a beautiful place but the streets are _made of china and all the houses are of beautiful glass , the kind of glass we find in church , windows . Now it so happened that one bright day when there were no signs of snow , rain , or hail , Jacqueline , the girl decided to go down town to purchase some beefsteak for breakfast . While _shopping she was introduced to Leslie , the boy , who fell desperately in love with her at firsi sight . Leslie manufactured rubber shoes and he was awfully rich .
