Laying of tho Comor-Stono. SPEECH OF THE PRESIDENT. IMMENSE GATIIEItlNQ. Chicago, September 6. The entry of the Presidential party to the monument grounds, nu the tint impressive point in the proceed ings of laying the corner-atone of the Dong las monument. A band of music preceded the cortege. A battalion of Knights Temp lar and the reprcaentatirea of the Masonic fraternity following. The latter ascended the stand and retted around the baso of the monument where they proposed to perform the ancient rites. At this point, just before the arrival of the President, the vast crowd broke tho ropes placed around tho reserved grounds and rushed to nearly all parts of the field. Order was fully restored by the exertions ol the Templars and the Ellsworth Zonara. A slight shower fell for a few morncm, but was over...
