Zabriskie, fllias Buck Zitbriykie, came to Marvsville yesterday, appeared before Judge Lindley, presented his bonds and was sworn in as Justice of the Peace for Long Bar Township. We make mention of this fact by way of introduction to a reproval to the spirit which induced a fanatical quoterjof Shakspearean sayings,who •Alook occasion to remark upon hcaringthat ®. Harvey, an attorney at law. died in the county hospital, last Monday. llis disease was a softening of the brain. He has resided for some time at North San Juan, where lie was taken sick, about six weeks fcgo, and being without means was sent to the hospital. Every attention was paid to iiis wants while in the hospital, the attorneys of this place having contributed towards paying the special expenses incurred for his comfort. (Mr. Harvey has been a sufferer from a malignant disease for many years. He was a most worthy gentleman.—ED. APPEAL.) ROBBERY.—The Daguerreau Gallry of °ns. Baker, on charge of threats 01' viol u<;e 1 .gainst his person, in the police court, this morning, Mr. Maguire stated that he had 110 intention of committing personal violence. Mr. Baker was satisfied with that declaration. The case was dismissed. A new Saving's Bank has been organized by the French residents of this city. Dr. Chase publishes a card, asking the public to withhold opinion, till an investigation can be had. The Doctor's friends are confident that a fair examination will exculpate him. The Board of Fire Delegates, have named Wednesday the 15th inst., when the Chief Engineer difficulty is to be settled.
