On Saturday last there was a flare up at the White House between the Delegation from California, who called upon tlie President to protest against Sen •tor Baker's influence in the appointments. Simonton also read from a paper severely reflecting on Baker. Proceedings of the Democratic | State Central Committee. The Democratic State Central Committee met in San Francisco on Tuesday, April 2d, 1861. The Committee was called to order by Charles Lindley. Chairman, and the roll of members called by the Secretary, and thirty five members answered to their names. The following resolutions were unanimously adopted: Resolved. That a Democratic State Convention be held in Sacramento City, on Tuesday, the lltli day of June, a.
