SAN RAFAEL, AUG. 3. [Newspaper Article] — Marin Journal — 3 August 1861

SAN RAFAEL, AUG. 3. County Finance. —In anotherportion of our paper will be found a state-' mcnt of the receipts and expenditures of the different funds of the county of Marin, for the last six months ending May 7th 1801. It will be seen that the county debt at that time was 86,;5G.5 47. This sum includes $5,000 (the Skidmore bond.) of county warrants and money now in the hands of the County Clerk, for which a suit is pending against the- county. This sum, if the suit results in l'avor of the cdunty, will reduce the county indebtedness to about $1,500. Thus, it will bo seen •that the finances of our county are in a prosperous condition. By the judicious management of our excellent Hoard of Supervisors during the past' two years, a county debt of about $25,-1 000 has been nearly extinguished. i Miu.ted.—The Central Committees of the two wings of the Democratic j party met on last Saturday, in pursuance j to a special call. The day being excee- j dingly hot, they resolved themselves i...
