Public Meeting. THE TOWN BOARD. A numerously attended meeting of the residents of Zeehan, wns held on Saturday night at the Church of England Institute, in order to decide upon the appointment of a 1 own Board, and to elect seven members. Mr Sinclair was voted to the chair, and briefly stated the objects of the meeting, which he said was the outcome of an in formal meeting held on the previous Saturday, when the twenty-five or thirty gentlemen who were present, decided that a Town iBoard was a necessity, and bad suggested the names of several gentlemen who would moke desirable members. The names of these gentlemen would be sub mitted for ballot as wull as the names of any others proposed and seconded by those present. Mr King pointed out that the names of any proposed members of a -Town Board, - required to be gazetted and advertised. Mr Myring said that the local settlement presented peculiar features, and it was doubtful if any township in Tasmania had at any period of itsexistenc...
