Plumpton Coursing. [Newspaper Article] — Koroit Sentinel and Tower Hill Advocate — 6 June 1914

Plumpton Coursing. To-morrow a start will be made at catcliing hares with ft view to stocking the plumpton enclosure. The nets and all accessories are available, and judging by tbe success which attended the efforts of aboub half-a-dozen en thusiasts last Sunday (when four hares were captured in a short time), a really fine collection should be cap tured nn this occasion. The club re quests the assiatanco of supporters of the sport, because the next most im portant thing to finding the hares is a good crowd of beaters to run them to the nets. The drive will tako place on Mr. John Gapes' properly at Wnrrong, and it is proposed to start for the scene of action about 10.30 a.m. A drag will be supplied for the members of committee. The Uolac meeting on Saturday re sulted in an approximate profit of £45, and it has been decided to hold a two days' meeting on June 26 and 27. Football. [Newspaper Article] — Koroit Sentinel and Tower Hill Advocate — 6 June 1914

Football. Mr. Jewell} one of the Allansford dele gates, last evening communicated with this office to the effect that it would bo impos sible to get the Allansford learn together for to-day's match against Koroit, and he regretted his team would have to cancel the engagement. Several of the players are, he stated, on the sick list, and several others were not available. Rather than take the field with half a team they had decided to forfeit the match. Already the umpire question has pro truded itself conspicuously into the senior football competition, and the inglorious display by George in the match Koroit v. Warrnambool, at Warrnambool last Satur day, absolutely disgusted all lovers of the winter game. In the opinion of many sup porters throughout the district the ruling body should secure the services of Norman Graham, or some equally competent umpire, to act with Tail, and who could be relied upon to control the game decently The extra cost involved in travelling expenses would ...
