DIED—In the prime of life, and universally   regretted, last Wednesday afternoon, Mr.   NATHANIEL AYERS, Clerk of the Lieutenant     Governor's Court, and also Clerk to the DEPUTY JUDGE ADVOCATE. A young Gentleman of   mild unaffected manners, and of disposition   truly benevolent. He discharged the Duties       of his Office, we have authority to state, with   diligence, fidelity and correctness—and gave general satisfaction to all those who had           occasion to transact business with him. HOBART TOWN, SATURDAY, DECEMBER 13, 1817. Sitting Magistrate - Rev. R. KNOPWOOD, A.M.   Assize of Bread - Wheaten 1s; Household 10d. SHIP NEWS. - Yesterday morning the brig Campbell Macquarie,   five weeks, from Sydney, bound to Macquarie Island and     anchored in the lower part of the River. As this vessel was not expected to touch at the Derwent we have no letters or papers   by her from Sydney. Captain SIDDONS, however, reports that Mr. Drummond and Miss Mackellar had undergone their trials, and been acquitted: that the murderers at George-town; Collyer the     bushranger; and the two Crahans, sheep-stealers, had also been         tried and condemned to death - some of whom had been executed. SHIP NEWS.—Sailed on Monday last for Port Jackson the ship Charlotte, Capt. MOFFETT.   The ship Ann, Capt. JOHN WILKINSON, only waits for a fair     wind to proceed on her whaling and sealing voyage. Remain in the harbour with the above ship, the brigs Spring and Jupiter ; and the schooner Henrietta Packet. OFFENCES. — Some very considerable depredations on sheep have been lately committed. A flock of upwards of 700, belonging to Messrs. STINES and TROY of the Coal River, were driven off last week, and 120 of Mr. EDWARD LORD'S; and others have been     missing. Hobart Town.   27th December, 1817; THE Superintendant of Government Stock will be ready on the   10th of January to issue from the Government Stock Yard, at the River Plenty, to such Settlers as have orders to receive Cattle from Government on credit, as part of their Indulgences, the number al- lotted to each. A Quarterly issue will in future take place of the Cattle allotted to Settlers with their Grants of Land ; and no issue will take place at any other period. Surveyor General, with the Party that accompanied him in an Ex- pedition to the Westward of the Blue Mountains, to trace the Course   of the lately discovercd River Lachlan, and to ascertain the Soil, Capabilities, and Productions of the Country through which it was expected to pass in its Courses to the Sea. Mr. Oxley's return to Bathurst took place on the 29th of August last, after an absence of nineteen weeks.
