m MARKET ' S mmm [Newspaper Article] — Chicago Packer — 11 May 1907

m MARKET S mmm IS FACE ! OP LARGE ! RECEIPTS CHICAGO HOLDS FIRM . Storage Demand for Good Northern Stock Continues Active—Said to , Be 000 , 00 * Caaea la Coolers Now . • Chicago , May 10 . —This week the egg market has kept up its reputation for doing the unexpected and quotations were established Monday at lCc fdr firsts , 17 c -for prime firsts and 19 c for extras . These prices have been maintained and it looks as if-the market is renting on a range of values dictated by trade conditions , although receipts here have been heavier this week than they were last week or even the corresponding week a year ago . There is the same round of guessing and different authorities are serving out the usual dope about storage holdings . The estimate printed in The ^ Packer two weeks ago , indicati...

N ew Yor k , May 10 . —The expected drop in the butter market did not materialise until Friday , principally on account of the longshoremen s strike , -which retarded railroad deliveries . The freight handlers of the Baltimore tc Ohio , Penn . and other western roads being out left the condition ln rather an uncertain way , but receivers , while not finding it so hard to set the freight provided they knew where to go to look for it , were in a quandary the greater part of the week about where to locate oars . The new potatoes reaching this market to date are , however , of first rate qualitv , if the supplies are diminished . Florida spuds are fine . Hastings stock regularly cleans up at $ 5 . 50 to $ (> . 2 > . Shipments have not become regular as yet and the quotations fluctuate somewhat from day to day . STORAGE MS ARE FIRM [Newspaper Article] — Chicago Packer — 11 May 1907

STORAGE MS ARE FIRM PROFITS ALREADY IN SIGHT FOR NEW YORK HOLDERS . Stock That Coat 18 % c In April Worth 10 y . se Now—Cooler Suppllea Not Exceanlve—Fine Slock Wanted . New York , May 10 . —The egg market is In better condition today than it has been for two months . In fact the entire egg deal , including storage and everything with the shell on , is about as satisfactory to the holders , receivers and buyers as it could possibly be , except that some / off grade stock is a trifle slow in moving . All week has seen practically a bare market on select stock with the current . trade . The receipts have fallen on greatly and buyers have been unable to fill their dally wants . However , the fact that the call has been just a little bit in excess of the offerings has lent a very strong feeling of healthiness , which causes a good substantial market . There are probably between 475 . 000 and 500 , 000 cases of eggs In the coolers of Greater Now York at the end of this week and the recei...
