k Fihes is Savannah,- Mo. Som two wecki ogo ilio town of Savannah narrowly escaped desiniolon by fire. Tlie fir si fire destroyed several valuable buildings and a large amount of mer chandize. Three nights after, another fire occurred, and by the two, properly to the amount of 130,000 was destroy ed, the principle part of which will be a loss to the owners, as thcro was no insurance. The prevailing impression was that both of the fires wcro the wurk of an incendiary. THE PRESIDENCY. " Some of the newspapers and their corres. pendents are beginning to create a little stir on the subject of the Presidency. We considci these efforts alto, jollier premature.
