?WlnMlt^mnx. CAMPBELL & M'DEBMOT, EDITORS AND PROPRIETORS. THURSDAY noR.M.NU, IfOT. 30. The Orfanlnflon of the Next legis lature. An article in the lust Clarksburg Telegraph indulges some speculations concerning the organization of the two Houses of tho next Legislature. It suggests that Messrs. Peck and Max* well, as the only lawyers in the Senate, cannot be spared for the chair, and thinks the probabilities favor the re-election ns president, of Mr. Stevenson, of Wood, and gives our friend Rllery R. JIall, Ksq., present Clerk of the Senate, u passing compliment, as a probable candidate for re-election. The singular fact is noted that there is not a single lawyer elected to the next House, and it is claimed that Har rison is tho only county that has sent back its delegates morethan twice?they having been re-elected ,for the fourth time. It is suggested in the same con nection that one or the other of these gentlemen will be the most available Union candidate for the next Speaker...

wcexi r kii?at Mounnro. dec. i. Toe Board ok Trade.?To-morrow afternoon, it must be borne in mind, the meeting will come off at Washing ton Hall for the organization of the Board of Trade. The benefits to be de rived from this organisation are so ap parent to nil that we need not refer to them fully now. We hope and expect to see a large tnrn out to-morrow after noon at the meeting of those who signed the calL They are the solid business men of our city. They control our trade, and it is to them we look for in formation of a commercial nature. All they lack to more fully insure full busi ness success, is some organization. To supply this want, the Board of Trade will be started, and when it is fully and fairly established, we expect to see much good come of it. Our city, of course, eannot expect to be considered as a great commercial "head-centre," but its own trade, and the relation it bears to our State, as its chief city, call ror some regular system in its commer cial management...

A "loot on If itud m "Foot In II.'* Some of our "reorganize! democrat*" at last plead not guilty to the charge of hostility to the new .-state of West Vir. ginia. One of their organs has patched up an answer. Hear it: The Democratic party in West Vir ?:inia has been charged with hostility to tie new Slate, and our political ene mies have often endeavored on the eve of an election to turn to their own ad vantage the intluence of such a charge. Just a.-, thev claimed to be the onlv simon-pure Union men, tbey arrogated to them?elv*? all the genuine love of the State of West Virginia. Both claims were false, but we ail know that the leaders of the Republican party never hesitated long when it was ne cessary to tell a lalsehood in order to uttain some political advantage. CAMPBELL & M'DEBMOT EDITORS AND PROPRIETORS. MONDAY *OESIS?, DEC. 4. Congress assembles to day at 12 o' clock, M. As usual the 14 rest interest centers in the lower House. There is now no longer a doubt that it will be organiied without delay. Mr. Colfax will be chosen Speaker without opposi tion, and Mr. McPherson is almost equally sure of re-election as clerk. Nothing will be done to-day, we sup pose, but to effect an organization and appoint the usual committees to wait upon the President and apprise him of the organization and readiness to re vive the message. We trust and believe that Congress will take firm ground in regard to the admission of the members from the rebel States. We are sure the loyal people of this State expect their repre sentatives and Senators there to reftise admittance to men from States which o in not be trusted to hold elections, ex opt under guard of federal bayonets. In view of the momentous questions of domestic settlement and pacification, no les...

It is but a temperate expression of the fact, to say that West Virginia haa been from its earliest settlement in the old State down to the present hour or lis existence as a separate State, snblccted to the. evils or a land monopoly. This in part grew out of the Virginia laud system, which yet prevails in the old ? tate.
