NEW YORK, Dec., 16.-Justice Coo nelly of Port Chester an eleven consta bles made a raid'on the camp of tramps yesterday afternoon in the town of Har riseoi, West Chester, Co., and captured 12 of the 25 who make it their head quarters. Their camp is in what is known as the "sand pile," and is well concealed. It was established several years ago and has been broken up by the authorities several time the tramps were intrenched and arrqd with razors, clubs and revolvers. At night they prowled around the country, stealing chickens, pork, hams, eggs, cider, potatoes and all sorts of farm products and do:'g much mischief. Since the opening of the racing season at New Orleans, most of the book makers here have been doing very good business. Notwithstanding the talk of the police, their rooms have been well patronized. , On Saturday business was espeelally ,good. The different places werd filled with a crowd that placed their bets in a lavish manner. The bettingon the third race came from the track.
