THE TOWN OF HOLTVILLE CALIFORNIA The town of Holtville is located at the eastern terminus of the HoltviDc Railroad, twelve miles east of Imperial on the east side of the Alamo rircr. This town has developed very rapidly during the past year. A $ 1 5,000 hotel, the finest hotel in the valley, is completed, and many other business houses and residences have been built. There arc nine miles of ditches whhin the platted town of Holtville to furnish water for domestic purposes and lo irrigate the 1 .200 palm trees and 1 ,200 pepper trees that have been planted on cither side ofthe streets. The streets and avenues have all been artistically laid out and gTaded. These canals also furnish water for irrigating crops within the town limits. In the near future a piped water system under pressure will be put in. An dectnc lighting plant will also soon be installed at Holtville, the power for which will come from the large plant on the Alamo river, where, at a forty- foot drop,~over 2,000 H. P. ...
