A bill wan passed authorising the appointment of Assistants to Commissioners of the licvenue, if the County Court shall deem an Assistant necessary, and requiring t'je Auditor of Public Accounts to furnish printed forms to aaid Commissioners for the books containing lists of the taxable property. A hill was also passed for the protection of the clam interest of the Eastern Shore counties. After soma time spsnt in efforts to perfect a bill from the Senate, proposing to tax Sherifls a certain amount to aid in paying juries and Justices of the Peace, the bill was committed to the Committee on Courts of Justice, witn the Tiew of having it reported in a form acceptable to a majority of the Houses. At 12 o'clock,on motion, the Speaker was authorised to vacate the Chair, to enable liitn to sign the enrolled bills, of which there were upward of 400 awaiting his signature.
