MR.SAMUEL HOOD, an Assistant Sur- geon on the Half-pay of the 46th   Regiment, having thought proper to ad- dress to the Lieutenant Governor, in his Official Character, a Letter, the Terms of which are equally unprovoked and insult- ing, His Excellency cannot allow himself to pass over such Couduct without pub- licly testifying; the Sentiments of the Go- vernment thereon; and, as a Measure of protection from future Insult of this kind,   Dr. Hood's Name has been directed to be   recorded, with a View to his being ex- cluded from participating in any further   Favor or Indulgence from the Local Go- vernment. ' At the Lord Mayor's Dinner, in Dublin, the health of the Ex-SheriffV being drank, Ex-Sheriff Warren rose to make a speech, but being interrupted by the noise, he cried out in a loud voice " My Lord Mayor, my Lord Mayor, (still louder) my Lord Mayor (most vehemently), my Lord Mayor," till the Hall shook with the thun- der of his voice ; " Sir, will you allow me to spake for myself fh The Lord Mayor assuied bim, that he had no inten- tion to silence him.
