At the local police court on Tuesday, Eben°zer Morris was charged with shoot ing with intent at Ro1>ert Smith, at Whim Creek, on or al*>at April 1 The evidence went to show that several men were drinking together, and that Morris began walking up and down with a gun in his hand. The chief witness, Smith, deposed that the gnn went off acciden tally, and the police thereupon altered the charge to one of disorderly conduct. On thischarge Mortis was sentenced to three months' imprisonment with hard Htlioar. Hann, with his party of ! natives, has just returned to Rullugine from an extensive trip out into the desert country, whore he met Mr, Itudall, who was on his outward journey in search of the missing members of &lt;ho ill fated Calvert expedition. Mr. Hann states that Mr. Jtudall was in good health at the titnr of meeting, tiut had discovered no traces of Wells or Jones. Mr. Rudall informed Mr. Hann that he had received information from the natives of two white men, one of whom had died apparently from some natural com ' plaint, whilst the other had been speared i»y the Mucks. Mr. Hann, however, informs me that after his 40 years' ex perience among wild natives, he is not inclined to place the slightest reliance in these teles, I understand it is Mr. Hann's intention to ultimately travel through the country as far as Euola,
