THE CANTATA "ESTHER". [Newspaper Article] — Tamworth Observer and Northern Advertiser — 19 July 1910

THE CANTATA ' ESTHER On Friday night last, at tlio Central Hall, tlio Taimvorth Methodist Choir rendered \Y. H. Bradbury's saurcd cantata 'Esther, tlio beautiful Queen.' There was a good attend ance and the audience much appreciated tho different items rendered. Tho choir scored a distinct and well-merited success. The cantata as a work, is not particularly ambitious, but, though the writing is, for the most part, fairly simple, it contains some exceedingly melodious and effective, passages. Indeed, here and there the choral work rises to an unexpectedly high plane. Notably is this so at the words 'Trust ye in the Lord,' and in the final chorus wherein the tenor...
