For Chronic Chest Complaints Wood's Great Peppermint Cure. Is 6d. — 0. A valuable patent for the detection of burglars has just been patented by Mr, L Morey, not the last important merit of which is its extreme simplicity. In any suitable part of the house is placed a small compressed-air chamber, which may be easily charged by means of an ordinary bicycle inflator, To a piece of one-eighth ot an inch metal piping lead ing from the air chest is attached an air cock, to the lever of which is fastened a man wire, and from that wire others are taken to every window, sash, door, and skylight on the premises. Should the burglar try to raise a sash or touch a door, however slightly, he will be aston ished to hear the shrill alarm of a police whistle sounding from somewhere near the roof of the house. The slightest movement Oof a sash or door releases the air, which, rushing upward, escapes through the whistle. Woods' Great Peppermint Cure for Coughs and Colds never fails, 1» 6d— 0|

The last survey, therefore, has reduced this amount considerably. I have sent the copy to the 'Molong Argus' to copy so that the public may see it and judg...

Farmers and Settlers' conference. [Newspaper Article] — The Canowindra Star — 13 July 1900

Farmers and Settlers' conference. The amount of good to be derived from unity of purpose has been amply evidenced during the sittings of tho. above conference. The strength of tho organisation was beyond the ken of any but those immediately concerned — nearly 200 delegates gathering to discuss those matters which are of vital importance 'to the producers. That the delegates met with the firm determination of doing1 good and legitimate work has been clearly shown in the calm deliberations which have marked their sittings through out, as also the readiness shown in many cases to withdraw motions where amend ments have been brought forward that appeared to give greater facilities than the motions themselves. Such clear rea eoning and honest discussion reflects the highest credit on those branches of the association in their selection of the men sent to represent them. The honors showered upon them from the Governor downwards is an acknowledged ptoof of their strength and power.
