The subject of closer settlement came uj> for continued discussion in tlie Legislative Assembly yesterday. It was proposed, said the Minister for Lands, to appoint a Royal Com mission to go into the whole question of closer settlement, such commission to consist of six Assembly and three Council members. It was hoped tliat the report would be available for next session. Condemnation of the proposal came from the Opposition, and Mr. Mackay (corner member) declared that it was an abdication of Ministerial responsi bility.
