The Warragul Guardian. THURSDAY, MAY 27, 1880. [Newspaper Article] — Warragul Guardian and Buln Buln and Narracan Shire Advocate — 27 May 1880

THURSDAY, MAY 27, 18O. Oct remarks last week anent the ron fi:rencr of delegates from the Buln Buil and Narracau Shires c Aem, at iany rate, to have caused considerable pcrturbation of mind to the two dele gates with whom, in the interet of the district generally, we had to find fault. As will be scan from the re port of the Bult Bula Shire Council meeting, the President and Cr. 13ana thought they were justified in occupy ing the time of the council for nearly an hour for the purpose of expressing the horror and indigiation with which they perused our article. The wasting of the time of the council for snch a purpose is a matter which we shall, for the present. pass over; but we intend to return to the subject again, with the object of giving our council lors a bit of advice in relation to their .mode of conducting- business; not that we would presume to instruct them in the Ie. scrip/a and le.r non scripta, but we hope to be able to help them to one or two reforms which will conduc...

SmI,-At the last meeting of the Council IMr. Round were appointed to deliver noti cus and collect rates in that portion of this here shire south of the line of railway. Now, sir, I should like for to know why somebody could rot have been appointed to deliver .utices and collect rates for this here part? Is it because we is so far away from Drouin that they take very little interest in us? I think that are the reason; and so I advises all my fellow-ratepayers to ~oeh up before the 10th of June, or we may be pitied atthe next election. At least I are afraid such will be the fhte of all who lives near EASTERN-BOUND HA.\RRY. [Our correspondent's grammar may not be good, but his head is screwed on right, and no mistake; and our readers who reside in the eastern portion of the shire will do'well to follow his advice if they hope to have a voice in the Council after the next elec tion.-Ea.
